38 Special — Buffalo 2011 NEW
38 Special brought their Southern rock sound to the Buffalo area in 2011, delivering a set filled with classic-rock favorites, soaring guitar solos and the melodic hooks that made the band a staple of 1980s rock radio. Known for combining Southern rock grit with polished arena-rock production, the group had plenty of familiar material to keep longtime fans entertained.
“Rockin' Into the Night” opened the show before “Back Where You Belong” and “Wild-Eyed Southern Boys” established the band's signature sound. A medley featuring “Stone Cold Believer,” “Back to Paradise,” “Somebody Like You,” “Teacher, Teacher” and “Second Chance” offered a trip through the catalog, while “Fantasy Girl” provided a standout moment with an impressive guitar solo from Don Barnes.
“Rebel to Rebel” paid tribute to the band's Southern rock roots, and “Caught Up in You” brought another major hit into the spotlight. The encore delivered “Chain Lightnin',” “Hold On Loosely” and a closing cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's “Travelin' Band.”
