311 — Houston 2023 NEW
311 brought their blend of alternative rock, reggae, funk and rap-rock to Houston in 2023 for a set packed with fan favorites and deep cuts. The Omaha-born band has spent decades building a devoted following by mixing heavy guitar riffs, infectious grooves and the contrasting vocal styles of Nick Hexum and S.A. Martinez.
The evening opened with “Homebrew” before moving into “Come Original,” “Prisoner” and “Don't Stay Home.” “What The?!” and “Beautiful Disaster” delivered plenty of punch, while “All Mixed Up” and “Love Song” showcased the band's more melodic side. The set also dug into the catalog with “Silver,” “Transistor,” “Use of Time” and “You Wouldn't Believe.”
“Applied Science” provided an opportunity for the band to show off its instrumental chops, while “Amber” offered a familiar singalong moment. After “Creatures (For a While),” the encore featured “I'll Be Here Awhile” and “Down,” closing the Houston performance with two beloved 311 staples.
